Editorial Policy, Research Standards & Publishing Guidelines
ANTHOUGHT
An Independent Multilingual Platform for Literature, Research & Cultural Heritage
English • Hindi • Urdu
Literary Excellence | Research Integrity | Original Authorship | Responsible Publishing
1. Our Mission and Editorial Philosophy
Anthought is an independent multilingual literary and research platform committed to advancing literature, encouraging original scholarship, promoting creative expression, and preserving the intellectual and cultural heritage of diverse literary traditions.
We believe that literature transcends geographical boundaries, linguistic differences, and generations. Every original literary work, scholarly investigation, and meaningful creative contribution deserves thoughtful consideration on the basis of its merit.
Anthought seeks to provide a distinguished digital space where established writers, emerging authors, poets, researchers, literary critics, translators, and independent scholars may present their work to a wider readership.
Our editorial philosophy rests upon five fundamental principles:
Originality. Accuracy. Intellectual Independence. Literary Merit. Ethical Responsibility.
We aspire to contribute to a literary environment in which knowledge is examined critically, creative expression is respected, and cultural heritage is documented with care.
2. Publish Your Original Literary and Research Work with Anthought
An Open Invitation to Writers, Poets, Researchers and Scholars Worldwide
Anthought welcomes original literary, creative, critical, and research-based submissions in English, Hindi, and Urdu from contributors across the world.
Whether you are an established literary personality, an academic researcher, an independent scholar, an emerging novelist, a poet, or a new writer with an original voice, Anthought invites you to submit your work for editorial consideration.
We welcome original research, literary compositions, scholarly essays, poetry, biographies, novels, and articles across a broad range of literary and intellectual subjects.
The essential conditions are that the submitted work must be original, demonstrate appropriate literary or scholarly quality, respect intellectual property rights, and meet Anthought's editorial standards.
A contributor's reputation, academic title, institutional affiliation, nationality, or previous publication record is not a prerequisite for consideration.
We believe that the quality of a work should carry greater weight than the prominence of its author.
All submissions remain subject to editorial assessment, and submission does not guarantee publication.
3. Languages Accepted for Publication
Anthought accepts submissions in the following languages:
English: Literary essays, academic and independent research, creative writing, critical analysis, biographies, cultural studies, and other suitable original works.
Hindi: Original poetry, fiction, literary criticism, biographies, research articles, essays, and contributions concerning Hindi and related literary traditions.
Urdu: Ghazals, nazms, rubaiyat, prose, literary criticism, biographies, linguistic research, literary history, and other original creative and scholarly contributions.
Works exploring the relationship between Urdu, Hindi, and other literary traditions are particularly welcome.
Submissions may use the appropriate script of the chosen language. Urdu literary material presented in Devanagari should preserve linguistic meaning and literary fidelity as accurately as practicable.
Anthought reserves the right to request clarification or appropriate language editing when necessary.

Anthought may also consider other original contributions consistent with its literary mission.
5. Editorial Selection and Quality Standards
Publication decisions are based upon the quality and suitability of the submitted work.
The editorial assessment considers the following:
Originality: The work must demonstrate independent intellectual or creative contribution.
Literary Merit: Creative submissions should show clarity of expression, artistic purpose, linguistic competence, and an appropriate standard of composition.
Research Quality: Research-based material should demonstrate sound methodology, credible evidence, responsible interpretation, and appropriate references.
Relevance: The subject should fall within Anthought's editorial interests or contribute meaningfully to its literary and cultural objectives.
Clarity and Structure: The work should be coherent, readable, logically organised, and suitable for its intended audience.
Ethical Compliance: The submission must respect copyright, attribution, privacy, and applicable legal requirements.
Editorial acceptance is not determined by personal relationships, financial influence, or the social prominence of contributors.
Anthought may request revisions, supporting evidence, or further clarification before reaching a publication decision.
6. Research Integrity and Scholarly Accuracy
Anthought regards accuracy as a fundamental obligation in research-based publishing.
Authors must make reasonable efforts to verify factual statements, dates, names, historical events, quotations, bibliographical information, and other significant claims.
Research must distinguish clearly between established facts, scholarly interpretation, personal recollection, and unresolved historical questions.
Where authoritative sources disagree, contributors should acknowledge relevant differences rather than present contested information as indisputable.
Fabricated evidence, invented citations, manipulated documentation, deliberate misrepresentation, and misleading attribution are unacceptable.
Research submissions should describe their sources and methods sufficiently to permit meaningful editorial evaluation.
7. Sources, References and Documentation
Authors of research-based works are expected to identify the principal sources supporting their arguments and factual claims.
Appropriate sources may include original literary works, recognised scholarly editions, academic publications, archival records, historical documents, reliable biographies, authorised interviews, and credible institutional collections.
Primary sources should be preferred where relevant and reasonably accessible.
References should contain sufficient information to identify the source, such as author, title, publisher, publication year, edition, page number, archival reference, or stable digital link, as applicable.
Citation styles may vary by discipline and type of contribution, but consistency and verifiability are essential.
Anthought may request additional references or supporting documentation before publication.
8. Authorship, Originality and Plagiarism
Every contributor must submit work that they are entitled to offer for publication.
Authors must not knowingly submit plagiarised, misattributed, fabricated, or unlawfully reproduced material.
Previously published work, substantially overlapping submissions, adaptations, and translations must be clearly disclosed.
The names of authors and co-authors should accurately reflect their contributions. All named authors should have approved the submission.
The use of another person's words, research, creative expression, or intellectual contribution without proper acknowledgement is inconsistent with Anthought's editorial standards.
Anthought may reject or withdraw material where credible evidence of serious plagiarism or authorship misconduct is established.
9. Copyright, Ownership and Publication Rights
Authors retain ownership of their original work unless a separate written agreement expressly provides otherwise.
Submission to Anthought does not, by itself, transfer copyright or grant unlimited rights to reproduce, sell, license, or adapt the submitted material.
Before publication, the contributor and Anthought should establish the necessary permission to publish the accepted work on Anthought's digital platform.
Any broader rights, including exclusive publication, print editions, commercial licensing, translation rights, audiobook production, or republication, require separate agreement where applicable.
Authors are responsible for securing necessary permissions for third-party photographs, illustrations, translations, substantial quotations, and other protected material.
Anthought may decline to publish material where ownership or permissions cannot be reasonably established.
10. Editorial Review and Publication Process
Submissions may pass through the following stages:
Initial Assessment: Evaluation of subject relevance, completeness, originality, and basic editorial suitability.
Literary or Research Evaluation: Consideration of creative quality, scholarly credibility, factual accuracy, and supporting references, according to the nature of the work.
Editorial Revision: Requests for corrections, restructuring, clarification, language improvements, or additional documentation where necessary.
Publication Decision: Acceptance, conditional acceptance, request for further revision, or rejection.
Final Preparation: Copyediting, formatting, attribution, and preparation for digital publication.
Anthought currently describes this as an editorial assessment process. Publication should not be represented as externally peer-reviewed unless a documented independent peer-review process has actually been completed.
Anthought retains editorial discretion regarding the suitability, timing, presentation, and placement of accepted material.
11. Standards for Literary Biographies and Historical Research
Literary biographies should be prepared with particular care because they contribute to the historical record and influence the reputation of their subjects.
Authors should verify, where reasonably possible, names, dates, family and educational details, literary affiliations, publications, awards, and significant historical claims.
Unverified anecdotes, family traditions, oral histories, and disputed biographical information should be identified appropriately.
The use of personal interviews or family testimony should not automatically be treated as independent historical confirmation.
Authors should distinguish between biographical documentation and critical interpretation.
12. Poetry, Textual Authenticity and Attribution
Anthought seeks to preserve the authenticity of literary texts.
Contributors should take reasonable care to verify the attribution of poems, couplets, quotations, and historical literary material.
Poetic texts should not be knowingly altered in ways that misrepresent the author's original composition.
Where variant readings exist, an editorial note may be appropriate.
Transliteration and translation should preserve meaning and literary character while clearly identifying the nature of the adaptation.
13. Artificial Intelligence and Responsible Authorship
Anthought recognises that artificial intelligence may assist with language refinement, research organisation, transcription, translation support, and editorial workflows.
However, AI assistance does not replace human authorship, critical judgement, or responsibility for factual accuracy.
Contributors must not submit fabricated quotations, fictitious sources, invented research findings, or AI-generated material falsely presented as independently verified scholarship.
Substantial AI involvement affecting the creation or interpretation of submitted content should be disclosed where relevant.
Authors remain responsible for checking facts, references, originality, and permissions.
Anthought may decline material that lacks meaningful human intellectual or creative contribution or fails its editorial standards.
14. Ethical Research, Privacy and Consent
Research involving interviews, private correspondence, unpublished manuscripts, personal records, or sensitive information should respect relevant ethical and legal obligations.
Authors should obtain appropriate consent or permissions when required.
Private information should not be disclosed merely because it is accessible.
Particular care should be exercised in presenting allegations, contested reputational claims, and sensitive biographical material.
Anthought may request evidence of consent, lawful access, or publication permission before considering such material.
15. Editorial Independence and Conflicts of Interest
Anthought seeks to maintain independent editorial judgement.
Contributors should disclose relevant financial, professional, personal, or institutional interests that could materially affect their work.
Commercially sponsored material, where accepted, should be identified appropriately and should not be presented misleadingly as independent scholarship.
Editorial criticism must be based on reasoned assessment rather than personal hostility or undisclosed interests.
Differences of literary opinion are welcome when expressed responsibly and supported by relevant arguments.
16. Corrections, Clarifications and Retractions
Anthought recognises that responsible publishing includes a continuing obligation to address significant errors.
Readers, authors, and researchers are encouraged to report factual inaccuracies, misattributions, copyright concerns, and other substantive editorial issues.
Where an error is substantiated, Anthought may issue a correction, clarification, editorial note, or updated version.
Where serious plagiarism, fabrication, unlawful publication, or another fundamental integrity concern is established, withdrawal or retraction may be appropriate.
Material corrections should be made transparently where practicable, so that the scholarly and literary record is not silently misrepresented.
17. Complaints and Editorial Reconsideration
Authors and readers may raise reasoned concerns regarding editorial decisions, attribution, corrections, or publication ethics.
Complaints should identify the relevant work, explain the concern, and provide supporting information.
Anthought will consider substantive complaints in accordance with its available editorial resources and applicable obligations.
A request for reconsideration does not guarantee reversal of an editorial decision.

20. Accessibility, Diversity and Literary Inclusion

Editorial consideration should not depend upon an author's fame, social position, institutional prestige, or nationality.
We encourage respectful intellectual exchange, responsible criticism, and the preservation of diverse literary voices.

Literary scholarship evolves through new evidence, archival discoveries, fresh interpretations, and continuing critical discussion.
